So if you and your family are looking for fun in the sun then why not spend it at Cocoa Beach.

Mangrove Fishing
Mangrove Coast is the ideal place to go on sight fishing. Red fish is one of the most looked out for in Ten Thousand Islands where tour guides lead vacationers to this exhilarating experience. Sight fishing is not the only major reason why Mangrove Coast calls in a lot of tourists. From the name of the place itself Mangrove Coast is rich with mangroves and is abundant in different species of fish such as the tarpon, snook and of course redfish. But these are not the only ones you can catch here, other salt water fishes here are the ladyfish, the spotted seatrout, mangrove snapper and the jack crevalle to name a few.
The southwestern coast of Florida is made up of islands and waterways. The Ten Thousand Islands boasts a very natural and untouched sanctuary. The flourishing mangrove trees nearly the only tree that grows in the area is the one thing that is the source of food and shelter for a number of fishes, birds and the rest of wildlife. For those whose passion, hobby or even means of income is fishing, Marco Island and Chokoloskee are the just the place to be.
When planning a fishing trip to Florida, the months February and near the beginning of June are the perfect months to take the trip as this is the time when you get to have the chance of catching a 150-pound tarpon. By the month of June, tarpons begin moving north so the locals usually catch tarpons that are 5 to 60 pounds which is not that bad at all. Like what most people say, better to get a small catch than not getting anything at all.
If there is one thing that Ten Thousand Islands’ world turns around on, it’s definitely the snook and the redfish. These most looked out for residents of the waters of Mangrove Coast are known to always being a sure catch as they are here all year round. Many of the locals say that fishers do not literally have to go out and catch them all they need to do is just get to the right place and toss out their baits where the fishes can be found and they say that one way of knowing is by telling where the egrets are feeding and from there you will surely get to “catch” the snook and redfish.
It’s definitely no wonder why Mangrove Coast is loved by not only the fishermen but even the tourists because despite of having the place get so commercialized, it has still remained its sight of nature untouched yet so well discovered.

Fishing in Salt Waters
When going fishing in salt waters, it is best to keep these tips in mind for a more fun fishing experience.
Free From Sharks
One way of getting rid of these creatures is by placing fish blood on a ball of newspaper or unto a paper towel and throw it overboard and those sharks will surely get lured by it. Make sure that when you move from one place to another you search carefully the place from the shallowest to the deepest and try different baits or lures.
Fishing on perimeters
When casting, make sure that you drop it within your area before throwing it into the middle. Make sure that you search within your perimeter before going far away because you might just scare those fishes when you go flopping around the water and you will never know, the fun might be just close to you.
Surf Fishing
Always take note that the fish when in surf fishing are up against the shorelines so make sure that your cast is set parallel to the sands and not too far out. Also, look for a beach front. The rocks, holes and reefs hold fish so one secret to surf fishing is knowing where the fish are. The birds are also hints to leading you where the fish are.
Fresh Shrimp
Fresh shrimp is a favourite meal of the fishes. If you are going to used them as bait you have to keep them alive. The wigglier they are the more they attract fish so make sure to place them in a less crowded, aerated and cool ice chest. The ice chest is great place to store these creatures as it keeps them cool and they are kept away from heat. Another technique is dying these creatures with food colouring to make them more attractive to the fish.
Shrimp Bait
This bait is the perfect choice for it is a meal that bottom feeders will love. It also gives off scent that will attract these fishes even more. The only problem with them is they are delicate and is hard to stay put on a hook. Using safety pin designed hooks will really aid in holding the bait in place.
Storing Jigs
Big saltwater jigs can be really heavy and bulk at the same time. Looking for their storage may cause a bit of a problem. With the use of a 5 gallon plastic bucket that has its own lid, punch in holes that are of equal distance all the way around. Just hang them from their big hooks out of the holes and you have just resolved it.
With all these tips and advises, make sure to not forget to have fun while saltwater fishing!

Four Most Important Fly Fishing Tips
Good Fly Presentation
The very main objective of casting a fly is to make it look real to the fish. Do not just throw your cast aimlessly. Make sure to choose a particular spot and go for it. You have to throw out tight loops making the fly the aim. Another important means to keep in mind is to overcast the target and hault while in the air. This way, the fly will come down falling on the water. The really good fishermen use only 30 to 35 feet of fishing line but in spite of that they compensate by making good casts.
If you are after a bass, the fly should be able to move past a particular spot where in a bass is able to hold. So as the boat flows, the timing to shoot a cast on target should be precise. When catching a bass, you have to get hold of 10 to 20 feet, pick it up then throw a cast again. After every cast, keep the rod at the level of you belt buckle with the very top of the rod towards the line.
Leader Connection
If you are familiar with casting a fly then you are very aware that there should be an even connection between the fly line and leader and is very essential in presentation. The ideal method to do this is by making a nail-knot of a six inch piece of 25 to 30 pound leader at the tip of your fly line, a loop is then found at the other end. Passing the loop that is linked to the fly line through the loop that is found on the leader is how connect a leader. You then grip the butt part of the leader pulling it up until the tippet goes into the loop. Tugging the fly line to pull the loops altogether and the butt part in
Strategy
If you happen to use the No. 12 Cinnamon Ant and set your goal on catching a trout in the open water and still do not work then use the No. 16 Adams fly. If it is still not working do not lose hope as you may very go for the No. 20 Black Ant. The very last resort is to use the 3X tippet and the No. B6 nymph or streamer. Naturally, the big trout will leave little scraps to little ones and conveniently go for the big bite as trouts are very easy to feed.
High Rider Dry Fly’s
The fly patterns may bore as it may fail every now and then. If that is the case then you may be able to choose to go for spiders and variants. Bringing a trout up to the surface is one thing that the spider and variant does a lot and when this happens you can go back to the traditional dry flying. Fishes are allured by the spiders and variants’ move which is why they bring out those fishes on the surface. Another characteristic of these flies is what they call high riding copying the fly better.

In Seminole Indian Village, is an archaeological dig site that is also at the area along with the Fort King Army stockade since 1830’s, a riverboat dock way back the 1880’s, a train depot and the genuine Florida “Cracker” farmhouse.

The wild side of Florida thousands of years ago is what the Lost River Voyage is about. The cypress trees, alligators, heron and lots more show wildlife still flourishing up to now. The trip goes into a hault when a guide explains the efforts and programs done in order to help preserve the place.
